California Transporter is built around one state. That focus means deep familiarity with California’s routes, ports, and DMV requirements, along with carrier relationships shaped specifically around how vehicles move in and out of this state, not just added on as one more market in a broader operation.
That matters because California is one of the busiest auto transport markets in the country, and knowing which routes have deep carrier coverage (LA, the Bay Area, San Diego) versus which need more lead time (rural NorCal like Gilroy or Redding, the high desert, mountain routes) is the difference between an accurate quote and a moving target.
We coordinate with a vetted network of licensed, insured carriers to move your vehicle safely, whether you’re shipping within California, into the state, or out to anywhere else in the country. Daily drivers, classic cars headed to a collector, fleet vehicles relocating for business, we handle it all. Every shipment includes a pre-transport inspection, tracking updates, and a delivery window you can plan around.

Vehicle shipping costs are driven by a handful of factors, and understanding them helps you get an accurate quote instead of a lowball estimate that changes later.
Distance. This is the single biggest factor. Shorter in-state moves (say, Los Angeles to Sacramento) cost less per mile than long cross-country routes, but longer hauls typically cost less per mile overall since the carrier is covering more distance on one trip.
Vehicle type and size. A standard sedan ships cheaper than a full-size truck, SUV, or lifted vehicle, which take up more trailer space.
Transport type. Open transport is the standard, most affordable option. Enclosed transport costs more but adds weather and road debris protection, which matters for classics, exotics, and new vehicles.
Route popularity. Routes with lots of carrier traffic, like anything in or out of Los Angeles, San Francisco, or San Diego, tend to price better than remote pickup or delivery locations.
Timing. Flexible pickup dates generally cost less than rush shipments. Peak moving season (summer) can also push prices up.
Getting a low quote is easy. Getting an accurate one that doesn’t change on pickup day is what actually saves you money. We build every quote around your specific vehicle, route, and timeline from the start, so the number you’re quoted is the number you pay, not a teaser rate that climbs once a carrier is assigned.
That accuracy is backed by a licensed, insured carrier network and a team that manages every shipment from pickup to delivery, with real tracking updates along the way, not a black box you’re left guessing about. Combined with strong carrier coverage across California’s busiest routes, that’s how we keep pricing competitive without cutting corners on safety, communication, or delivery timelines. You’re not choosing between a good price and a safe, reliable shipment. With California Transporter, you get both.

Our services are available for people in numerous cities that are located across the state of California.

Most vehicle shipments take between 3 and 7 days, depending on the distance, pickup and delivery locations, weather conditions, and carrier availability.
We’ll provide you with an estimated delivery window when you get your quote.
Vehicle shipping costs vary based on four main factors: distance, vehicle size, transport type, and current carrier availability on your route. As a general guide, California routes typically run $300–$600 for open transport on a standard car. Cross-country shipments from California to the East Coast run $900–$1,400 for open transport and $1,200–$2,000 or more for enclosed. Larger vehicles, like trucks, SUVs, oversized, cost more than sedans. Enclosed transport, which is recommended for classic, exotic, and luxury vehicles, costs roughly 30–40% more than open.
The fastest way to get an accurate number for your specific shipment is to call 855-663-4888. Quotes are free, there’s no obligation, and you’ll have a real number in minutes rather than a range pulled from a general guide.

Yes. Once your vehicle is picked up, California Transporter assigns you a dedicated coordinator who provides real-time updates throughout the shipment. You’ll receive confirmation when your vehicle is loaded, periodic status updates while it’s in transit, and advance notice before delivery so you can arrange to be present. For direct updates at any point, you can reach your coordinator by phone or text. You have one person, one number, for the entire shipment. We don’t use automated tracking portals that leave you guessing; you get a real person who knows exactly where your vehicle is.
Yes. California Transporter picks up your vehicle at the address you provide and delivers it directly to your destination, no drop-off terminals, no satellite lots, no driving to a storage facility to collect your vehicle. A carrier is dispatched to your home, office, dealership, or any other address you specify, and delivery works the same way on the other end. The only exception is in areas where a large transport truck physically can’t access safely, such as narrow roads, low bridges, gated communities with height restrictions, in which case your coordinator will arrange the closest practical meeting point and let you know in advance. Door-to-door is the standard for every shipment we handle, not an upgrade you pay extra for.
Payment is collected at the time of delivery, not upfront. You pay your driver directly when your vehicle arrives and you’ve had the chance to inspect it. A deposit may be required at booking to secure your pickup date and carrier. Your coordinator will confirm the exact deposit amount when you get your quote. The remaining balance is due at delivery, typically by cash or certified funds. We don’t require full payment before your vehicle moves, and you’re never asked to pay in full to a company you haven’t yet worked with (that’s a red flag in this industry and not how we operate).
